Should you end up 2 wheeling your truck and recover it, the game has this very weird tendency to make you bounce from your left set of wheels, then over to the right side quite violently. There was very little body roll (considering it's a truck and not a sports car) and when i did get it to roll-over, it wasn't exactly the kind of rollover i expected. It wasn't exactly difficult to roll the truck, however it was a fair bit tougher than i first thought. Especially when you realize that this truck is extremely top heavy and should roll with relative ease. I personally found it very difficult to roll the truck at high speed. However, should you decide to disable the speed limiter and gun it, prepare to be dissapointed with the physics at high speeds. The heavier trailers really slow you down on steep hills, they take far longer to come to a standstill and just make life a bit more interesting when going downhill. The driving mechanics of this game are where this game really shines however, you can really feel the weight of your truck and trailer, this also does a excellent job of showing just how much of a difference a 1 ton and a 50 ton trailer has to your truck.

However, if you purchase the 4 cargo packs you gain access to the wide variety of cargo i have already mentioned.

This cargo can range from a box trailer full of carrots, right the way up to a train! The cargo variety in the base game is reasonable, even though most of the trailers are just box trailers with different skins on. You are tasked with delivering a wide variety of cargo to a particular company. The gameplay mechanics.Īs i said before, the gameplay itself is pretty basic. Now, let's move onto the main part of this game. I personally average out at a perfectly playable 50fps on the highest graphics setting, since this isn't a shooter or a racing game 50fps is plentiful.

If you don't have a reasonably high end PC don't expect to be running maxxed out graphics settings, this game is quite hardware intensive. Now as I said, as a result of this being run on DirectX9, it's certainly got plenty of work to do in the performance department. Especially if you use the photo mode (more on that later). The sun shafts in this game are particularly excellent, if you catch them at the right time of day (i recommend early morning) you can capture some truly stunning photos to add to your collection. Everything looks spot on, especially for a game released in 2012. However, with all things considered this game is by no means a bad looking one. So as a result, this game could certainly look and run better than it does right now. This game is still running on DirectX9 (google it). Now before we move onto the graphics of this game, there is one thing that i need to make clear. It does it's job, nothing more nothing less. Every icon is clearly labelled and designed to be as easy to use as possible. The look and feel of the individual menus is purely functional and you can tell that right away.

You can see your custom designed truck in a series of different desktop backgrounds ranging from a dimly lit bridge, all the way to being underneath the Northern Lights. It's a very welcoming place to be and certainly gets the job done. The user interface on this game, while a bit unusual is one you quickly adapt to. Let's start off with the visuals of this game (user interface and graphics.). Which means speed limits, toll roads and a fair bit of reversing with trailers. This game is designed to simulate truck driving in the real world. If you are a fan of fast driving or racing then this game is not for you.

So feel free to research the rest of this game in other articles before making your decision. The main areas of the game I shall be talking about are the graphics, the gameplay/the online element (not TruckersMP), the truck customization, the game map and the photo mode. There's a whole lot more to this game than what I shall cover in this article. However, if you can get past the stereotype this game has, you can enjoy a very refreshing and unique driving experience. At first this doesn't sound that interesting or exciting. You deliver cargo from point A to point B and don't ask what's inside the trailer. For those of you who don't know what Euro Truck Simulator 2 is, this game is a simulation of real life truck driving.
